Walkthrough: Right after the Continue/Star Barrel, crawl pass the rocky structure, and you'll be in an area with a steel-rimmed barrel. Carry the barrel, go down, and smash it on the wall.
It's similar to the few bonus rooms in Donkey Kong Country. This is a match the item in the barrel game. To score the item, match all three similar items and tada.. the item is yours. You can score only one of the three items though. Choose the Red Balloon for an extra life.
