Donkey Kong Country - Movements and Kontrols

Note: The manual used here is based on the SNES version of the game. The controls may be different on the GBA version.

Donkey Kong
Overview:

Donkey Kong's girth slows him down. His Jumps are not as high as Diddy's, and his big size means he can easily get hit. However, Donkey do have some advantages. As the physically powerful brute, he's capable of dispatching tougher enemies, that Diddy couldn't normally harm with normal attacks. He could also reveal hidden bananas and defeat normal enemies with a Hand Slap. Donkey is a powerhouse.

Moves:

Hand Slap - Down + Y
Note: This move could dispatch some enemies and gain their banana. It could also be used to reveal bananas hidden in trees and some grounds.
Roll - Y
Note: Roll attacks could harm enemies that do not have lower-body defenses. Not all though.
Run - Left or Right + hold Y
Jump/Bounce Attack - B
Note: Bounce attack defeats some of your enemies. Donkey could beat even head-armored baddies in one attack. Not all though.
Switch Character - A or SELECT
Note: You need a partner to do this move.

Diddy Kong
Overview:

Diddy's small body permits him to move fast and jump higher than DK. His speed and agility makes him a very reliable character, however, his strength is pitifully weak. His attacks may not harm some tougher enemies that DK could, and his weight could sometimes also be a disadvantage since he'll bounce off an enemy in a less controllable manner.

Moves:

Cartwheel - Y
Note: The Cartwheel harms some enemies and offers some limited protection.
Run - Left or Right + hold Y
Jump/Bounce Attack - B
Note: Harms some enemies, but practically useless on an enemy who wears a helmet. Some strong baddies are also impervious to such attack.
Switch Character - A or SELECT
Note: You need a partner to do this move.

Additional Controls:

Pause - START
Level Skip - START then SELECT
Note: Works only on a previously cleared stage.
