These are large sharks that swim around the submerged levels of Donkey Kong Country. They usually swim back and forth and doesn't seem to attack unless you're in their way. Think of them as the Zingers of the underwater.
You can't touch Chomps while swimming so he's practically untouchable while underwater, however, you would be able to get rid of him if you have Enguarde.
